Q. How do silk plants handle exposure to direct sun?

Generally, most conventional silk plants will not fare too well. Direct sunlight will tend to fade and /or discolor the foliage of most silk plants over time. The less the direct sun exposure, the longer the life of the foliage.

That said, there are some special foliages developed recently that incorporate UV protection for outdoor use. These include several shrubs, trees, flowering bushes and greeneries that will last for a reasonable period of time in sun exposure conditions.

We carry several of these UV protected foliages in our showroom. But, as foliages with UV protection are now a rapidly developimg area, please contact us if you'd like further information on the latest developments.
